Art should suit the owner
Art is always something personal. This applies to the maker, but certainly also to the owner. In most cases, people own art that they can identify with. It is more than a decorative object. It brings identity to a space. It constantly radiates free energy that makes people's brains active.
Eternity
We live in a world where innovation goes on and on. The fact that we are getting older than the things we buy is also something new. Our needs must also be cheap, so production costs must be low. This also applies to the production of art. As a result, the quality of works of art disappears. I assume that my paintings will outlive me. That is why I put a lot of attention and time into my painting production.
Why abstract
The reason people love abstract art more and more is the plethora of images we see every day. All images evoke a feeling. Abstract art does the same, but not through a recognizable figure or object. It immediately evokes a feeling, there is no translation in between. It has no function other than to be there. Like a friendship you don't have to maintain.
Color and dosage
Colors are stimuli that prompt you to do something. Bright colors work differently from soft colors and dark colors work differently from light colors. To make a painting work optimally, the color of the wall also counts. It is a matter of taste how the owner of the painting applies it. On this website I use strong wall colors behind the paintings.
Picture frames
The use of picture frames is subject to fashion. It determines how a painting is presented. I personally don't think I should get involved in that. My work arose from a thought or feeling and that is what it is. Then I let it go and it goes on its own path. The sides of the paintings are also painted, so a decorative frame is not actually necessary.
Pricing
The price can only be negotiated when several paintings are purchased. Prices are based on material costs and the number of hours worked on the painting. If the buyer lives near the Netherlands, I will bring it myself. If the painting has to be packaged and sent, we will look at the costs involved. It is important that both parties are happy with the transfer.
The color of the wall
My work is colorful and there is always a balanced balance in the use of color. It always fits on a white, gray or black background. In the examples below I have hung the paintings on 'solid' colored walls. This is subject to taste, but it gives an idea of how the paintings are given a more active effect.
